Marko R. Huttula，男，芬兰籍，芬兰奥卢大学理学院终身教授，博士生导师，纳米和分子研究中心主任；Academy of Finland研究员，法国Pierre and Marie Curie University物理化学实验室、University of Tartu访问科学家；International Research Laboratories、美国伯克利ALS (2001)、意大利里雅斯特ELETTRA (1999,2000)、德国柏林BESSY2 (2001,2009)、瑞典隆德MAX-Laboratory (1997至今)、法国巴黎Soleil (2010至今) 客座教授；欧洲物理学会会员，芬兰国家物理委员会董事会成员，Kajaani University Consortium董事会成员，MAXIV协会成员，捷克科学院研究与专业活动评估员等。

多年来，Marko R. Huttula教授致力于同步辐射激发光谱和成像技术在材料电子结构及其相关动力学的理论研究。研究重点集中于纳米材料，并通过表征团簇功能结构材料特性、催化和大气纳米颗粒的性质和行为，研究纳米材料从原子层面到固态的特征。目前已经开展了材料表面纳米结构以及功能材料研究。Marko R. Huttula教授带领下的纳米和分子研究中心研究团队，旨在从原子层面进行理论分析，开发跨学科应用的新型材料。作为课题负责人与主要参与人先后负责参与I4Future、MAX-IV、ERDF、RFCS-2015、FIRI2010、FIRI2013、FIRI2014等欧盟，芬兰科学院以及奥卢大学等资金支持的科研课题及项目近30项，主持或主要负责国际会议30余次，在《Physics Review Letter》, 《Phys. Rev. A》，《New J. Phys.》，《J. Appl. Phys》等国际期刊上公开发表SCI论文200余篇，国际专利10余项。

The talk will first cover an introduction to University of Oulu, Finland, and then briefly explain the research focuses of the Nano and Molecular Systems Research Unit  (www.oulu.fi/nanomo). The research focuses range widely from atmospheric aerosols to functional materials benefitting the knowledge of electronic structure of matter. The wide international collaboration, successive publication rate and funding obtained from international funding agencies, such as EU Horizon 2020 programme is emphasized. The Centre for Advanced Steel Research and the related national research profiling action of the University of Oulu is also shortly introduced.
